Parallelization and scalability are in that respect also a prime objective, where we are involved in a number of European projects such as TILDA, whose aim is to bring highly complex high order simulations to industrial reach via massive HPC deployment.

By incorporating the TERATEC platform we look to bring and share our knowledge on these topics in order to bring simulation and virtual prototyping to the industrial design process.


NUMECA is involved in various European projects such as TILDA. The TILDA project will offer methods and approaches combining advanced and efficient high-order numerical schemes (HOMs) with innovative approaches for LES and DNS in order to resolve all relevant flow features on tens of thousands of processors. The objective is to create proximity to a full LES/DNS solution for 1billion degrees-of-freedom (DOF) not exceeding turn-around times of a few days for industrial use.

NUMECA is also involved in the UMRIDA project on Uncertainty Quantification (UQ) and Robust Design Methods (RDM) which aims at a paradigm shift in virtual prototyping away from deterministic design and towards a design under uncertainties, providing not only a mean result but a domain of confidence for a given design quantity. The project aims at bridging the gap from current State of the Art at basic research level to a Technology Readiness Level where large numbers of simultaneous uncertainties can be treated in analysis and design.
