CEA vision for exascale computing

Historically High performance computing centres were used for scientific numerical simulations. Today a wider range of applications require HPC compute power: data analytics, data science, artificial intelligence,... With the evolution of the usage, HPC centers had to evolved.

This talk will provide CEA vision on the evolutio of computer center architecture to fulfill the needs of scientific communities and industrials.

Biography : Jacques-Charles Lafoucriere is program manager at CEA/DAM. He is in charge of High Performance Computing and Big data programs for the CEA/DAM Simulation program which drives the design and the deployment of exascale class computing centres. Since thirty years he has been involved in many aspects of high-performance as system administrator, system developer, architect, R&D project leader or team manager. His main expertise is high performance storage. He was also a developer in OpenSource projects like Lustre and is currently involved in multiple European projects like Human Brain Project, ICEI or SAGE. He holds an engineering degree from Ecole Centrale Paris
