Forum Teratec 2019 Report
HPC: one priority for Europe
A unique event in Europe in terms of scale and quality, with 1,300 participants this year, the 14th edition of the Teratec Forum brought up a synthesis of state of-the-art progress in high-performance computing (HPC) and digital simulation as well as most innovative technologies such as Big Data processing and machine learning (AI). It also confirmed that these issues have become crucial for European bodies currently setting up EuroHPC a major program, ultimately covering an investment of more than 6 billion euros.
Focusing on high-performance computing (HPC) and digital simulation, as well as Big Data processing and machine learning (AI) in these areas over two days, the Teratec Forum gathered: plenary sessions; thematic and application workshops; an exhibition featuring hardware, software and services as well as the presentation of the Digital Simulation Trophies. On first day, the plenary sessions marked the commitment of the European institutions to these technologies whose development and mastery will be at the heart of our companies’ competitiveness for the coming years. This digital transition proves to be imperative to succeed in all areas, whether be aeronautics and space, automotive and mobility, health or industrial production. The plenary sessions also provided an opportunity to discover technologies under development such as exascale that will make it possible to meeting these challenges.
