High performance computing and simulation is evolving very rapidly with major advances in technologies and in many applications. This is why meeting the community of experts gathered to take stock on state of the art technologies and new directions is particularly beneficial. The TERATEC Forum 2011 will focus on main public policies, on industrial research and development and on new uses.
|
At the request of industry and technology providers, the Forum Exhibition will take place along 2 full days, welcoming innovative start-ups as well as major world leading companies, covering the whole HPC value chain.
On June 28, the morning plenary sessions will be devoted to presenting main public policies with keynote addresses from representatives of the United States of America, Japan and Europe explaining their current respective HPC programs. Industrial applications of high performance computing and simulation will be dealt with in the afternoon sessions. This year highlights cover such topics as materials and components simulation, aeronautics and automotive applications, or technical related fields such as acquisition learning and optimisation involving massive databases.
On June 29, workshops and contributions will bring together a whole range of professionals presenting and discussing technical and real case studies. The focus this year is on systems design and simulation, with the major transformations taking place in simulation methodologies enabled by the advances in systems capacity and performance.
June 28, the plenary sessions will illustrate the growing importance of HPC in many areas of industry and research and its role in major scientific and technological advances, with the participation in the morning of major political, economic and academic figures, and leading international industry users and suppliers.
By Rudolf HAGGENMUELLER, President d’ ITEA 2 (Information Technology for European Advancement)
By Tadashi WATANABE, Next-Generation Supercomputer R&D Center, RIKEN (Japan)
By Debra GOLDFARB, Sr Director, Strategy Technical Computing, MICROSOFT
In the afternoon, senior industrial and ICT leaders gave their testimonies on the challenges of high performance simulation in the automotive, big data, aerospace, new materials, research and operational decision aid including the participation of:
By Daniel ZAMPARINI, Directeur des Systèmes d'Information du Groupe PSA PEUGEOT CITROËN
By François BANCILHON, Président, DATA PUBLICA
