Welcome to Plenary Sessions
Digital Simulation for High Performance, Big Data and Machine Learning (AI): Technology challenges and diversity of use
The rise of digital technologies will aid design of increasingly complex and high-performance products and systems. With optimized algorithms operating machines of tenfold performance through Big Data and Machine Learning (AI) technologies, combining digital simulation tools will require to meet new technological challenges leading to implement innovative applications in multiple economic sectors increasingly accessible to SMEs as well.
This will be demonstrated by speakers in the plenary sessions Agenda of the 14th Forum Teratec on Tuesday, June 11. Public authorities, researchers, technology suppliers and industrial users will present state of the art technology, medium and long-term prospects, and implementation strategies to better control and improve companies’ competitiveness.
These technologies and innovations will be highlighted by:
- Daniel Verwaerde, President and Founder of Teratec
- Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner to the Digital Economy and Society
- Emmanuel Chiva, Director, French Defense Innovation Agency Ministry of Defence
- Philippe Varin, President of France Industrie
- Jean-Yves Le Gall, President of CNES
- Matthias Traub, Head Automotive IoT and E-Architecture, BMW AG
- Marc Hamilton, VP, Solutions Architecture and Engineering, NVidia
- Mustapha El-Bouchouafi, General Manager, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence France
- Thierry Pellegrino, VP & General Manager of HPC, Dell EMC.
Two roundtables will complement these presentations:
A unique opportunity in Europe to make your own opinion on major industrial challenges where these innovative technologies will play a leading role, to enable industrialists, large groups as well as SMEs to remain innovative and competitive.

The Data, heart of Smart Factory
By Mustapha El-Bouchouafi, General Manager, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence France
Every factory is "smart", but it is necessary to know where this intelligence resides and at what level. For operators, the real value is to move away from their current technological comfort zone by connecting all equipment via IoT sensors in order to collect as much operating data as possible, and approach problems from a different perspective. Such digital transformation is essential to increase competitiveness of manufacturing industries.
