Teratec leading the way into the future
It is now widely acknowledged that digital technology, especially High-Performance Computing, Simulation and Big Data, is essential, indeed crucial, for competitive economic growth, national sovereignty and an advanced society
Teratec, in bringing together all the key players in the field - technology providers, users, academic research centres, political and regional authorities -, is deeply committed to tackling and finding solutions to these challenges. Teratec must therefore actively pursue its actions by focusing on four main points:
- Boost development and expertise in digital technology to respond to the challenges faced by users and the pressing need to ensure strong French and European sovereignty. To this end, we need to set up working groups to define roadmaps for major initiatives, promoting emerging technologies and user sectors alike.
- Support major technological and social changes, be more proactive in promoting digital technology and its use by SMEs and mid-caps, as well as in training for developers and users. To this end, the SiMSEO initiative needs to be developed on a wider and more sustainable scale, to provide effective services accessible by all business players.
- Develop our actions at international level, especially across Europe. Teratec is a unique set-up, one that leads the way in Europe. It must be a creative force in the development of major European initiatives and a driving force in European HPC and HPDA.
- Expand our communication initiatives. Teratec Forum is an event held every year which no one involved in HPC in France can afford to miss. It must continue to develop, expanding in the international arena and promoting the central role of France.
Teratec has proven that it can launch the type of initiatives essential to develop expertise in these technologies and look ahead to future needs in the key area of HPC. In a sector in which France is a European leader, Teratec and its members must remain at the cutting edge, coming up with new ideas in response to major challenges in the digital sector in France and Europe.
