Biography : Appointed Associate Professor at the Institute of Optics in 1987, he continued his research activities in the "Nonlinear Optics" laboratory on photorefractive materials and the development of ultra short pulse laser sources.
In 1991 he joined Essilor International, where he developed, within the R&D teams, technologies for the calculation, manufacture and measurement of complex optical components, such as Progressive Addition Lenses. After having held various positions there, in 2006 he became R&D Optics Director.
In 2019 he was appointed Senior Vice President "Research and Prospective", with the mission of leading the upstream innovation processes of the Group.
Gilles Le Saux was for height years board member of the French Optical Society, is currently vice-president of the Institut d’optique Graduate School , and board member of the International Myopia Institute. |
