Scalability ot the CRAY XC and its ARIES network.
Abstract : This talk describes aspects of the Cray XC system and its HPC-optimized Aries™ interconnect that were designed for scalability, enabling Cray to deliver systems such as “Trinity”, installed recently to the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA). The talk addresses scalability metrics that are important for supercomputer systems today and increasingly so for upcoming exascale systems. Results measured on Trinity demonstrate that the Aries Dragonfly network used in XC systems performs well in critical areas including collective latency, memory footprint, power consumption, and the affordability of high global bandwidth.
