Dear Teratec Members and Partners, Readers and Friends,
First of all, adhering to more than centuries-old tradition and on behalf of Teratec and its operational Team, I wish you all the best for the New Year. For you personally in 2020, I wish joy, health, peace and success in all your projects. To those whose organization is a member of Teratec, I wish 2020 to be a year of prosperity as well as success and that our Association will make the contributions you expect.
As underlined during our last General Assembly, 2019 has been synonymous of success for Teratec notably with completion of the SiMSEO program which largely exceeded its objectives, as well as through significant achievements of our annual Teratec Forum and decisive steps to anchor Teratec in Europe. We maintained participation in three Centers of Excellence and have laid the foundations for an extensive collaboration with the European Commission that should benefit all of us in the future. The year 2019 was also an opportunity for Teratec to launch new initiatives around forward-looking topics in the fields of Quantum Computing (TQCI) or autonomous systems, for instance.
From such dynamics, 2020 should witness the concretization of this European collaboration particularly helping the creation of the Competence Centre to service of all French and European companies and benefit players who provide technologies and services, many of which are members of Teratec. As far as representing HPC user companies, the European Commission has identified Teratec as the spearhead of this initiative partnering with the HLRS Centre in Stuttgart, asking Teratec to present an organization in order to become its permanent interlocutor as well as that of EuroHPC.
Therefore, Teratec is currently in process of acquiring a real European dimension and I am delighted about this. Much remain to be done to achieve this mission that will have to be delivered in 2020. You can count on our commitment and determination working on this essential objective throughout the year. This important change of scope is an opportunity for companies and organizations that have not joined us yet and that consider becoming members of our Association will allow the French Community of Numerical Simulation and HPC/HPDA to have a greater influence within the European Area.
Happy New Year 2020!
Daniel Verwaerde
