Forum Teratec 2021
Higher education and research institutions have a key role in advancing our knowledge and mastery of digital technologies, crucial for Europe’s sovereignty. École Polytechnique is one of them. For 227 years, its mission has been to serve the common good and give its students a strong scientific and general culture, enabling them to occupy highly qualified jobs. With the launch of Institut Polytechnique de Paris in 2019, the School reaffirmed alongside the four other member schools, ENSTA Paris, ENSAE Paris, Télécom Paris and Télécom SudParis, its ambition to change tomorrow’s world and to act on subjects with a strong societal impact. With the aim to help shape a resilient, sovereign and innovative European Union, Institut Polytechnique de Paris and École Polytechnique excel at education and research in key areas for the future: Artificial Intelligence, computing high performance, quantum sciences and technologies, defense and cybersecurity, and energy transition. Their actions are based on a shared conviction: the need for an interdisciplinary approach to build bridges between fundamental research and technology, and thus generate cutting-edge innovations. Institut Polytechnique de Paris and five other European universities, TUM in Munich, DTU in Copenhagen, TU in Eindhoven, EPFL in Lausanne, and Technion in Israel, join forces as part of the EuroTech Alliance, in order to meet the growing demand for engineers, contribute to Europe's technological competitiveness and work for scientific and technological progress on an international scale.
