Industrial cybersecurity, pillar of the digital transformation of Schneider Electric factories
By Yann Bourjault, Head of Digital Transformation & Industrial Cybersecurity, Schneider Electric
Schneider Electric has started the digital transformation program for its supply chain in 2017.
This program, named TSC4.0 which stands for Tailored, Sustainable and Connected Supply Chain concerns its 220 factories and 100 distribution centers around the world.
The Vaudreuil plant near Paris was among the pioneer factories within the group, and it was recognized by the Wolrd Economic Forum as one of the nine most advanced factories in terms of digital transformation.
“Think Big, act Small & Scale fast” is what characterizes the global and local factory approach implemented by Schneider Electric.
Based on its lean manufacturing fundamentals, the factories are deploying a framework of digital technologies allowing rapid gains, whether in terms of maintenance, energy savings or even in terms of daily performance management.
The connectivity of industrial equipment imposes a high level of cybersecurity, which Schneider Electric has based on IEC 62443. Secure remote connection, intrusion detection, management of removable media by white station, Schneider Electric has deployed a framework of reinforcing solutions the security of its supply chain while ensuring the continuity of operation of its production lines.
