Do you speak Exascale?
Chaired by Guillaume Colin de Verdière, Senior Expert on HPC and Jean-Philippe Nominé, HPC Strategic Collaborations Manager, CEA DAM

Biography : Guillaume Colin de Verdière is Senior Expert on HPC at CEA. He got his engineer degree in 1984 and his PhD in 2019. He joined CEA in 1985 and has been working on high performance scientific computing since. After having been involved in code development, visualization tools and GPU computing, he is now advisor in charge of HPC prospective architectures with a focus on Exascale class concepts. Guillaume Colin de Verdière has been involved in the Teratec forum organization for many years. He is also involved in the Systematic community to promote HPC usage.
Biography : Jean-Philippe Nominé is HPC Strategic Collaborations Manager at CEA. He joined CEA’s HPC division in 1992 and held different managing positions there, with teams in charge of HPC software development and software engineering, then started working on European collaborations and projects in 2007. He was involved in the creation of PRACE between 2008 and 2011, then of ETP4HPC Association, and was a member of the ETP4HPC Office from 2012 to 2019. In the meantime, he spent 3 years at CEA Headquarters, between 2017 and 2019, working on digital and HPC strategy. He also taught High Performance Visualisation and gave various introduction lectures to HPC in different Higher Level Establishments, in Masters curriculae (with ENSTA, Ecole Centrale, ENS Cachan, INSTN…), and was PhD advisor for several students. He is regularly involved in the promotion of HPC towards the general public and younger people. Dr. Nominé is a Member of the ETP4HPC Steering Board; ETP4PHC Vice-Chair for Research; and a Member of EuroHPC Research and Innovation Advisory Group (RIAG).
