Abstract : Protein is a major quality criterion taken into account in the marketing of grain. It is a balance within the plant, between nitrogen nutrition and carbon nutrition, these two processes are closely related through the senescence of leaves. The SCARA is working on a new approach to analysis of the needs of grain to meet this major challenge of competitiveness of french farmers.

Biography : Philippe MICHONNEAU est Docteur de l'Université de Poitiers en Physiologie, Biochimie, Biologie moléculaire végétale. Pendant plus de 5 ans il a dirigé une société de biotechnologie (Géniflore), spécialisée dans la production de plantes OGM à vocation thérapeutique et dans la mise au point de méthodes de luttes alternatives contre les maladies des plantes. En 2010, il s’est orienté vers le monde des grandes cultures en intégrant la SCARA (Société Coopérative Agricole Région d'Arcis) ou actuellement il anime le Pôle Agronomie, innovation, Service.
