Managing Big but also Fast data with Complex Event Processing

Abstract : Hadoop technology and  Hadoop ecosystem have made possible to store and process data at large scales but these data processing technologies are not stream or complex processing oriented. Stream  and complex data processing have  fundamentally different set of requirements than batch processing and this  processing at massive scale is becoming more and more a requirement for businesses.

Complex Event Processing tools like Esper  hosted in an adapted middleware like Storm  seem to go in the right direction to tackle the challenge.

Biography : Deeply involved in European and French research projects on CEP technologies and strongly concerned by development and middleware since 20 years, Philippe Gibert has contributed  to many projects  involving  Corba, Web Services Technologies, SOA WS Management, OSGI technology and more recently CEP middleware and targeting  the Ecosystem of  Orange Products and Services ( Network management Platforms,  Smartphones, Multiservices Internet Routers).
