Workshop 7 - Wednesday, June 29 from 14:00 to 17:30
HPC Technologies & Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) infrastructures
Agriculture at the crossroads of IIoT and HPC : when teledetection meets simulation to improve plant proteins and reduce nitrate pollution
Abstract : The challenges faced by agriculture are more relevant than ever : feed 50% more people in 2050 while improving nutritive properties of productions, guarantee the economic stability of farmers, reduce its impacts on environment and health (inputs, pesticides…), adapt to climate change…
The goal of this presentation is, through the work of Smart Agriculture System project on nitrogen and proteins management in wheat, to show how plant growth modelling, data assimilation and IIoT can be combined to address those challenges.
New observation tools (embedded sensors, teledetection) and data from IIoT enables a better knowledge of plants environment in Real Time. Their association with mathematical models through data assimilation techniques enables a better understanding of plant behavior and therefore the creation of decision aid tools for crops management.

Bio : Marion Carrier is developing numerical tools based on plant growth models for the actors of agricultural sector in CybeleTech since 2014. After an engineering school in computer science and modelling, she worked in Centrale Paris laboratory MICS (Mathematics and I for Complex Systems) on plant growth modelling for two years before joining CybeleTech Team. |
